Jonathan S. Bodner
Jonathan S. Bodner is an associate with Neiger LLP. Jonathan’s practice includes representing chapter 7 and chapter 11 debtors, distressed companies in out of court restructurings, litigation on behalf of fiduciaries, prosecuting and defending avoidance actions, and representing a diverse array of secured and unsecured creditors in bankruptcy and state court insolvency proceedings. Jonathan’s creditor practice includes representing produce suppliers throughout the region in pursuing claims and related relief under PACA (the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act of 1930).
Prior to joining Neiger LLP, Jonathan was an associate with Forman Holt Eliades & Ravin LLC, a premier boutique bankruptcy law firm. At Forman Holt Eliades & Ravin LLC, Jonathan represented debtors, creditors, and trustees in a wide variety of bankruptcy proceedings including complex liquidations and substantial reorganizations. In addition, Jonathan gained substantial experience representing parties in state court insolvency proceedings including assignments for the benefit of creditors, receiverships and foreclosures.
Jonathan is actively involved in the New York Institute of Credit and the Turnaround Management Association (New Jersey Chapter). Jonathan serves as the Chairman of the Executive Committees for the Future Leaders Divisions of both of these organizations.
Jonathan is admitted to practice law in the state of New York, New Jersey, and the United States District Courts for the Southern District of New York, Eastern District of New York, Northern District of New York, and the District of New Jersey.
Prior to practicing law, Jonathan served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Donald J. Volkert, Jr., P.J.Cr. in the New Jersey Superior Court, Essex County, Law Division – Criminal Part (2006-2007). During law school, Jonathan also served as a judicial intern for Judge Volkert and the Honorable Kenneth S. Levy, P.J.Ch. in the New Jersey Superior Court, Essex County, Chancery Division – General Equity Part.
Jonathan graduated S.U.N.Y. Binghamton in 2003 (B.A. Political Science) and Syracuse University College of Law in 2006 (J.D.).
